Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how AccessCheck collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you use our website, request a scan, purchase monthly monitoring, open a hosted report link, or otherwise interact with the service.
AccessCheck is designed for website owners and operators. It is not a public consumer social platform, and we do not intentionally collect information from children under 13.
1. Information We Collect
- Contact information such as the email address you submit when you request a scan or purchase monitoring.
- Website and scan data such as the URL you submit, root domain, scan timestamps, accessibility findings, evidence snippets, and report history.
- Billing and subscription information processed through Stripe, including customer IDs, subscription IDs, checkout session IDs, status, and renewal dates.
- Communications and support records, including transactional email delivery records and any messages you send us.
- Technical and usage information we and our infrastructure providers receive automatically, such as IP address, browser metadata, request logs, and basic device information.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide free scans, hosted reports, monthly monitoring, billing, and customer support.
- Generate plain-English issue summaries using AI or other processing providers.
- Protect the service against abuse, enforce rate limits, debug failures, and improve scan reliability.
- Send transactional messages such as scan-related updates, subscription confirmations, monthly monitoring emails, billing-related notices, and support communications.
- Comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How We Disclose Information
We disclose information to service providers and other parties only as reasonably necessary to operate the service or comply with law.
- Hosting, database, analytics, logging, and infrastructure providers that help us run the product.
- Payment processors such as Stripe to process subscription purchases, renewals, cancellations, and customer portal requests.
- Email providers such as SendGrid to send transactional product and billing messages.
- AI or model providers we use to rewrite technical accessibility findings into plain-English summaries. These providers may receive limited finding details, such as issue titles, criteria references, and short evidence snippets.
- Professional advisors, law enforcement, regulators, or counterparties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our rights, or protect users and the service.
4. Hosted Report Links
We may send you secure hosted report links by email after checkout and during monthly monitoring. Anyone with a valid link may be able to view the associated report, so you should treat those links as confidential. We use signed tokens and expiration controls to help protect access, but no emailed link should be treated as a substitute for a full user account system.
5. Retention
We retain personal information and scan data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, provide monitoring, maintain hosted reports, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information and whether you are a free-scan lead, a subscriber, or a support contact.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of certain personal information.
- You may also have the right to appeal a denied privacy request, limit certain uses, or opt out of certain processing where applicable law provides those rights.
- We do not sell personal information for money. We also do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To make a privacy request, contact us through the support email used for your product or billing communications.
8. International Transfers
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. By using the service, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in locations outside your state or country of residence.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
